Sleping on the Job of The Day

The Surete du Quebec has launched an internal investigation after a video was taken that appears to show a pair of officers asleep in their patrol car.

According to the person who made the video -- which was made public through radio station NRJ 102.3 FM -- the squad car was parked on the side of Highway 40 between the exits for St. Maurice and Des Prairies, and did not appear to have anyone inside.

The videographer started filming as he walked up to the car and spotted two people lying down in the front seats.

Sergeant Guy Lapointe says the SQ was notified of the situation this morning and immediately launched a disciplinaty review.

The officers involved have been asked to file a written report, and investigators will talk to the person who made the video.

Super Mario IRL Of The Day:

Unnecessary Remake of the Day

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has commissioned screenwriters Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer to script an updated remake of 1992′s critically-panned commercial hit The Bodyguard.

A tentative synopsis:

The new version is similar, including the love story, but here the bodyguard will be a former Iraq war veteran who gets the job protecting the star as his first gig after leaving the Army. He discovers that the world of Twitter, Google Maps and TMZ has made access to celebrities easier than ever, making the job more difficult than ever.

Deadline says “The goal is to take a young female singer with global appeal and give her the platform that The Bodyguard did Houston.”

Five words: “The Bodyguard starring Katy Perry.” Hollywood: Over.

Naturally, YouTube’s got this covered: “JESUS CHRIST ITS A KENYAN GET IN THE CAR.”

In case you were wondering, the BBC’s 8-part documentary series Human Planet is still the best thing around. In this clip, three Kenyan men calmly approach a pride of lions feasting on a wildebeest, and scare them off so they can steal their supper.
