Poking fun at The Daily EIC Jesse Angelo’s editorial staff request to find “the oldest dog in America, or the richest man in South Dakota,” Stephen Colbert issued a bar-raising challenge to Rupert Murdoch’s iPad-only newspaper: Find the richest dog in South Dakota.
Today, The Daily delivered with a splashy feature on Miss Charlie Brown — the English cocker spaniel of former South Dakota Senate Majority Leader Barb Everist, whose husband Tom is a Sioux Falls-based mineral magnate with an estimated worth of $130 million.
But Miss Charlie Brown isn’t as pampered a pup as you might think. “This isn’t a Paris Hilton kind of dog,” Ms. Everist told The Daily.
